Don't bring me down.....BRUCE!

Hello!

It's always great to start off the week with a good show, I feel as though it bodes well for the week ahead!

Hey...you might get to catch a peek of Rick on CTV News tonight. A crew was in taking pictures of Steve Streach about his idea to take the 15-passenger vans off the road. Check it out!

So, a listener called me off the air that he nearly died laughing after we played our new song for Bruce - "Don't bring me down". I admit, it was classic and expertly timed on Rick's part. Rick keeps asking why he, the host, doesn't have a song. We'll have to work on one for him too!

Those of us without breathing problems sure take it for granted, don't we? You always think about cigarette smoke causing people to cough and aggravating breathing disorders, but I never thought about smoke from wood stoves.

You have to think about the particulate matter being released into the air as well - not pleasant. Someone else called about people wearing too much cologne or perfume - I agree...that is extremely aggravating. That being said, I would much rather smell cologne that B.O. I've always wondered why B.O. isn't mentioned in any scent free policy. Why do we ban good smells and we can't ban the bad ones? There's nothing worse than sitting on the bus next to someone who hasn't showered in 4 weeks. Disgusting.

Rick is very anti-smoker, isn't he? I agree with him to a point. It's just that smoking is legal, so to ban it in so many places doesn't deal with the real issue of the government being totally hypocritical.

Speaking of Rick, what a romantic. Bob calls us to tell us he and his wife Jean just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and he tells us he wants 50 more years with his wife and Rick openly questions his sanity?? Heart of gold, that one....

It's so deceiving outside, as it looks sunny and warm, but with the windchill it feels like minus 29!!!! Bundle up!

Talk to you tomorrow - Health Minister Chris D' Entremont will be in!

Cheers,

Amber

Hello Amber....love the Bruce song...
If I had a theme song it might be something like" Raise a little hell"

I hear these people complaining about smokers and wood stoves, while at the sametime they have power plants pumping out toxins around the clock.
I guess those people don't have any problem paying their heating bills...
She might be shocked to know that there are people out there using coleman stoves for heat....or any kind of method of generating heat.

I have a wood stove and i don't feel one bit guility if there is smoke from it that bothers anybody. Not with the largest producers of pollution nearly in my back yard, Pt Aconi and in Lingan only a small drive away.

Wait till they start using sewage sludge pellets to generate power or used in pellet stoves. and that is coming.

So when people who complain about the small stuff like wood stoves, which when burning properly will not produce smoke, and they don'y have the courage to speak out against the government of NS and Emera(NSP) for being the largest contributer to CO2 by burning high sulphur and high ash coal and not required to install new scrubbers cause the NS government said they didn't have to, then these people are not worth listening to. They have no creditability.

They spend their day peeking out the windows and see what they can find to complain about. as in "Look there is smoke coming out of the neighbours chimney" as she jacks up the thermostat for more heat from NSP.

Now too much cologne or shaving lotion, toilet water can be a real problem for people who have breathing problems...some people just go overboard with it.

You can't smoke in Timmy's or other places, but you can smell like a lady of the night out on the town. Something wrong with that pic.

And dogs and cats can cause breathing problems for some people as well so maybe that lady would like everybody to get rid of their cats and dogs as well as the wood stoves.

And some people should take a look at the fumes and smoke coming from the Navy ships and other ships entering the harbour.
May as well shut them down as well.

And being near anyone who doesn't practice good hygiene any where is never nice.

Now smokers who have that last puff before entering the office surly don't realize how much they stink to others in the office, or on the bus or wherever. They stink...and their clothes stink as well...even the non-smoker who lives with a smoker will have stinky clothes...

And there should be a law that covers people who flick their butts out the car window or throw them on the ground at entrances to buildings....something under the litter by-laws.

Going into a hospital and seeing all the butts on the ground is just the actions of pigish , ignorant people who should be fined.....Seeing patients huddled together in a misserable weather outside the hospitals having a cig. is just beyond any understanding...especially the mothers-to-be.. and IV in one hand and a cig in the other...and then throws the butt on the ground.while complaining about the health care they are receiving.....un-believable some people are...

I wonder if the health minister smokes.....and if he does, what is it he is smoking?

That boy is smoking something and it ain't Export-A..
