Eco Goons

Thanks to Grumpy Barry for the title today!

It was either going to be "Eco Goons" or "Black Ops". If you look at it from the government side, the Sea Sheperd Conservation Society are definitely goons. If you look at it from the Society's standpoint - this Black Ops, Tom Clancy style takedown that Rick talked about today was completely out of control. I'm going to have to agree with the Globe and Mail and Rick on this one - sub-machine guns? Black clad Mounties? The government is cool with the Coast Guard illegally boarding a foreign-registered ship in international waters, but hasn't said boo about the Coast Guard's botched tow job that killed 4 sealers? What's the priority besides Loyola Hearn's personal beef with Paul Watson? Can you believe Hearn's quote this morning "Welcome to the new Dodge. " This guy needs to get a grip. I can't wait for Question Period today!

So, thanks to caller Bernard for alerting us to changes to the government's Pharmacare plan. As of April 1st, there is no 30 dollars flat rate co-pay. As of April 1st, seniors have to pay 33% of the cost to a maximum of $382. It says right on the website that seniors are paying more and that's a shame. Here's a link to read more and there's also a FAQ for the changes that happened on April 1.

Here's a link to Russell Wangersky's website. We had him in the studio during hour number 2 talking about his book "Burning Down the House" about his days as a volunteer firefighter. Riveting hour, let's hope his bad dreams start to abate soon.

Tomorrow, an hour about the seal hunt! Bridget Curran, an anti-sealing activist will be in taking your calls during hour number 2.

Cheers!

Hello Amber...

First of all I really didn't like Rick cutting me off this am....but i can live with it.
The only thing is that if he does it again then that will be the last time i call the show....i don't mean that as a threat only as a promise.

I enjoy the show very much but i also know that if a person is in business and a client calls up for something, you don't cut them off if you want to keep them as a client.

Everybody has an opinion and has the right to fully express themselves on whatever a subject may be...

I wasn't finished this am and just because Rickstir might not agree with what I am saying is no reason to cut somebody off....thats just plain ignorant no matter who the person is or what they are saying....

But no matter what i had to left to say it appears that many people called in with the same feeling about the seal hunt and the protesters....

So its not just me on a rant.

Having Bridget Curren on tomorrow hey? oh well i have choosen to not listen to her and will find something else to do for that time period.

She is no different than Watson and i choose to no longer listen to this Walrus. or his brainwashed followers like Curren....weak minds are so easily controled by people like Watson....they seem to think they are superior to others....they are NOT open-minded.....they are very much closed minded in fact....so sad to be educated and still so stupid at the sametime....

I have no use for any of them...they are just Watson' puppetts....and not even worth a Toonie...

I don't very often compliement MLAs , MPs especially the Tories, but in this case Hearn did the right thing and shut the Farley Mowatt down.

And if people don't like the Dodge attitude we have down here then they can just go somewhere else.... thats life in these parts and accepted by the people who live here....if outsiders or those"from aways" don't like it , then so be it.....they don't live here and pay taxes here....we do...and we are indeed a proud bunch and will fight for what we believe in....

I wonder if things would have been handled any differently if this involved the First Nation fishermen...i bet it would....Watson wouldn't dare tick off these folks....

anyhow kid thats my rant....what i wanted to say this am before being rudely cut off.....

I mean this in a light manner cause i feel you have a good sense of humour, but I really don't expect anybody from Upper Canada, Ontario to understand the way things are done on the East coast, but someday you may have some pretty good material to write a book.....
